Atlas

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

Atlas is a book tracking app designed with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data Atlas collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Data That Stays on Your Device

Your library, reading history, notes, preferences, and any other personal data you create in Atlas are stored locally on your device and synced through your personal iCloud account. Atlas does not operate its own servers and does not have access to your data.

Book Search

When you search for books, Atlas sends your search query to Apple’s iTunes Search API to return results. These requests are made directly to Apple and are subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. Atlas does not store your search queries or share them with any other third party.

Purchases

All purchases are processed entirely through Apple’s App Store. Atlas does not collect or have access to your payment information. Purchase history is managed by Apple and synced across your devices through your Apple ID.

Analytics and Tracking

Atlas does not include any analytics frameworks, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking tools. No usage data is collected, and no data is sold or shared with third parties.

iCloud Sync

Your Atlas data syncs across your devices through Apple’s CloudKit framework. This data is stored in your private iCloud container and is not accessible to Atlas or its developer. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you wish to turn off iCloud Sync, open the Settings app, tap [your name] > iCloud > Saved to iCloud and find Atlas. Toggle the switch next to Atlas off and iCloud syncing will be turned off.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual books and their associated data from within the app at any time. To remove all Atlas data from your device, you can delete the app. Because Atlas syncs your data through iCloud by default, deleting the app from one device does not remove your data from iCloud or from your other devices. To fully remove Atlas data from iCloud, open the Settings app, tap [your name] > iCloud > Storage > Atlas on your device and tap “Delete Data from iCloud” to delete the Atlas data stored there.

Children’s Privacy

Atlas is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of Atlas after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
